Italian musician about Kazakhstan

Today I am going to tell you about italian singer who lives in Kazakhstan.

3 year ago, no one in Kazakhstan had heard the name Son Pascal. Son Pascal is the Italian musician who had recently moved here. He is still trying to pursue his music and enjoy the culture of Kazakhstan. I guess he just wanted to become an overnight national star. Today, the name Son Pascal is recognized by most Kazakhs. That’s because Pascal had performed a comic remake of the famous “Englishman in New York” video in Shymkent (one of large city in KZ). His fun video clip “Englishman in Shymkent” wentviral with more than 50,000 views in just a couple of days on YouTube. Here's link:

He occasionally sings in Kazakh. He came to Kazakhstan because of work situation, but after enjoying the country, he decided to stay for a while. “I moved to this country because of some work prospects and I love so many things about life here,” he told on the interview.

One of interesting fact is that Pascal doesn’t miss his home country’s food. “Besh barmak” (Five thumbs), the major traditional food of Kazakh’s, has become his favorite meal. This unusual meal made of boiled horsemeat, mutton or lamb and large flat noodles.

Pascal loved the nature of Kazakhstan. Especially he likes the ski resort Shymbulak. Also he is trying to learn to play the dombra, traditional musical instrument. He has made a lot of friends here.

He faced a several challenges there: the language and weather. He is learning Kazakh and Russian language both. He says his first months were little hard to live and to take care of himself.

He also moved to Kazakhstan in the middle of winter, so it’s taken a while for his Italian blood to adjust. “I had to deal with the serious cold, but I got used to it quickly,” he said. The only thing he misses about his country is the sea. He is enjoying the Kazakhstan, but not sure to stay forever. Because, you know, life is unpredictable. But I am sure he gives us a lot of good memories and passions. And I am glad to have a foreign singer in our home.
